CEO, Moringa Fund
From 1990 to 2005 Hervé Bourguignon has worked in different industrial sectors in Latin America, Africa and Asia at senior executive positions.
From 2006 to 2011, he was appointed President of the International Forest Industries Association (I.F.I.A.) which brings together the Forestry and Wood processing Industries in the Congo Basin Region and West Africa. He contributed to implementing the FSC certification spirit among the Companies. The area of FSC certificated forests increased from nothing to several million hectars during his mandate. He also contributed actively to promoting the local processing in Africa.
He is now the CEO of Moringa, an Impact Investment Fund initiated by the Rothschild Bank and ONFI, the International Subsidiary of the French Forestry Commission. Moringa’ s investment strategy is to invest in agroforestry projects on the basis of successful pilot projects located in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Moringa will typically invest in projects that have a potential to be scaled up and produce staple crops and forestry products, wherever it is possible, supporting out grower schemes around the nucleus plantation. Moringa will routinely seek the FSC certification for its projects.
Hervé is also a professor in various Universities, notably at HEC (Haute Etudes Commerciales in Paris) where he teaches Investment in challenging countries. He wrote a book and several articles on « How firms should cope with economic crisis in difficult countries».
