zoomJanos PasztorJanos PasztorA national of Hungary and Switzerland, Mr Pasztor received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US.

He started at WWF International in 2012 as Director of the Policy and Science Department, moving to his present position in May 2014.

In 2008–10 he directed the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Change Support Team, and was then Executive Secretary of the Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Global Sustainability. 

Mr Pasztor’s career of over 30 years includes service with various NGOs focusing on energy and environment, climate change and sustainable development. 

From 1993–2006 he worked at the secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. 

Past assignments also include work for the World Council of Churches, the World Commission on Environment and Development, the UN Environment Programme, the Stockholm Environment Institute, and the secretariat of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development.
