Mantovani is a geographer, with specialization in water resources, and has been an environmentalist for more than 35 years. He also participates in several social movements related to the protection of nature and has integrated the Environmental Chamber of the FSC Brazil for more than 10 years. One of his main aims is to guarantee the participation of society in the formulation of public policies for the protection of forests.
